Note

Registration of a flat does not imply that the subdivided units (SDUs) therein have been recognised as basic housing units (BHUs). The relevant SDUs need to obtain BHU recognition before the expiry of the grace-period before they can continue to be let out.
Upon the commencement of the countdown period six months prior to expiry of the grace period (i.e. starting from 1 September 2029), no new domestic tenancy will be allowed for a subdivided unit (SDU) in a registered flat that have not yet been recognised as a basic housing unit, or else the person letting the SDU under such new tenancy would be held criminally liable.
